Antioch University New England (AUNE) invites applications for a full-time Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) Clinical Faculty member to join our progressive team in our dual-delivery model program, but will be a primarily remote position with some travel to Ohio. This Faculty position will be the clinical lead for all initiatives related to the partnerships associated with the Otterbein University Affiliation in addition to other potential community and affiliation partners. Not only will this faculty member help with the vision and development of a multidisciplinary training clinic in Ohio, they will also help to develop clinical and academic programming for military personnel and families in Ohio and beyond. As such, they will serve as the Program Director for the Counseling Military, Veterans and Military Families Certificate creating internship pathways for students within the certificate.
The Clinical Faculty member will have responsibility primarily in development and oversight of the Military Certificate as well as mentorship of the courses in that certificate. As part of the work with the certificate, the faculty will work closely with the Strategic Initiatives team to develop opportunities and partnerships with military and military serving organizations specifically in the OH region at first and expanding outside of this area across time. Additionally, this faculty will work closely with the Divisional Director of Academic Affiliation Initiatives to support the development of an interdisciplinary training clinic on the Otterbein campus that will ensure internship opportunities for students within the Military Certificate track.
The CMHC program at AUNE is committed to experiential learning, social justice, extensive clinical training, scholarship, and the use of creative, progressive and applied approaches. AUNE has been educating counselors for over 40 years and has a network of alumni throughout New England, and the country, who serve as many of our field supervisors and employers.
Position Overview
The position has responsibilities that include:
- Working with partner sites to expand marketing and training opportunities, focusing in the OH region and expanding to additional areas
- Development and oversight of the Military Certificate
- Collaborating with the department of Strategic Initiatives to support their work in developing partnerships with Military and Military Serving Organizations
- Teaching at the clinical intensive residencies in Ohio in the Fall and Spring
- Teaching two CMHC Low Res courses in the Fall, Two CMHC Low Res Courses in the Spring and One Military Certificate Course in the Summer
- Participating in regularly scheduled department and program meetings
- Additional Summer teaching is available
Educational and Experiential Requirements and Qualifications
- Professional counselor credentials (Ohio State Licensure preferred)
- At least two years of clinical supervision experience
- An earned doctorate in counselor education and supervision (CACREP-accredited program) is preferred
- commitment to social justice and advocacy underpinned by the American Counseling Association's (2015) Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies
- Preference will be given to those with Military Counseling Experience
